i fire up my truck in the morning and didnt leave it plugged in or anything. it doesnt matter if its 30* or 50*. it will run fine for a few minutes. i drive it down the road and make it 6-8 blocks and it starts to miss on random cylinders. it shakes horribly and progressively gets worse until im holding it WOT to keep it running at an idling speed. white smoke is pouring out the exhaust. then the check engine light comes on and it runs worse until it dies. i fire it back up and the light shuts off but it runs horrible and it dies again. i have to restart it about 8 times or so before it starts to run better. eventually i get it to clear up and once it runs good enough to move itself i start to drive it and if i rod the hell out of it, it will clear up and run fine the rest of the day. if i dont it will just keep running crappy. this is the 3rd OBS powerstroke ive driven that does this. anyone know whats going on? once its running again ill check codes, but it really annoys me when im running late to work and it does that. if i leave it plugged in it runs fine, but its very inconvenient, since i park my truck by the road and its at my girlfriends parents house. i have new filters and keep it maintained. im thinking its the oil temp sensor or something since its acting like injector timing and i think its temperature related. anyone had this problem?
