Im really starting to get mad now . Today I was checking my oil and my stupid dipstick broke. This is the second one Ive had too. Both times the handle has broken off of the metal piece. I tried superglue but it didn't work. Is there anywhere other than Ford you can buy these things? The second dipstick only lasted a year:dunno:
have seen it happen more than once. Seems when I put my dipstick in it wants to "spin" itself in, so I dont know if you are forcing it in straight? The dipstick tube makes a more radical bend near the block for clearance compared to 7.3 so I dont think a blade style like a 7.3 would work either.
I noticed when you put it in it only goes one way too. The handle just breaks from pulling it up:dunno: I heard that Ford made a new one with a yellow handle but they only had the old style at my local dealer. I haven't been able to find the new one any where.
I used superglue but apparently it wasn't quite dry and it glued itself to the dipstick tube:doh: I actually went to a different Ford dealer and they ordered me an updated dipstick for like $30.
Well hopefully that will work for ya then sounds like ya got er fixed! :thumb: dont remember the exact name of what i used but it was loctite fast drying stuff, had it on for about 3 months now and no problems
