found large leak under fuel filter :yikes: It looks like it's coming from around the Fuel filter canister or somewhere under it. Have any of you had this problem?

Is it an oil leak or diesel leak? I didn't have an oil leak but i had a bad diesel leak around the fuel/water separator housing. if it is a fuel leak i would check and make sure the fuel filter is tight, and see if the fuel is coming out of the drainer valve. The drain on the back has two o-rings that can dry-up and crack. i had a leak out of the drainer and replaced the o-rings for $5. Poof no more fuel leak. If that is the problem and you take it to the dealer they will tell you to replace the entire housing for about $600. Hope this helps.

LOL! Definately not, that would be Marc. Most of what I do know has come from these forums. Mostly I try to help others on situations that I've personally encountered. Hpop Orings leaking is one of them :chicken:

if it is the hpop what does it take to fix it?

thank you
5bucks for either a #5 or #6 (depending upon port) Viton Oring from your local hydraulic shop and some LockTite or the $27.00 kit from Ford. Depending upon which Oring it is will determine how to fix it. Post up when you find the leak.

I sprayed degreaser everywhere and blasted it with water and cleaned it up, then cranked the motor. Remember oil will pretty much fly everywhere but forward while driving :bluewink: after that tidbit of advice it took me 2 minutes to find my leak :D
Sounds dumb, but that worked well for me.

All it takes is a $30 set of O-Rings a couple of wrenches and about two hours. There is a lot of info on this site about the process. But if you need more guidance I did mine a few months ago and I know Maintain knows how. I'm sure you will get plenty of help around here.

Buy the Ford kit. It comes with some rather specific instructions, and IMPORTANT information. The kit part number is 2C3Z-9G804-AA. Refer to TSB 04-4-4 if you can find it online somewhere. Last one I did was around $13 for the parts.
