I have a new f-250 6.0 only about 8000 miles.I put the six gun bundle from
banks on it with the power pda.Noticed I had coolant coming out of my
fill cap.I dont think that it ever has been below the low mark level.I took it to
the dealer and they said that it was a head gasket. cost around 3,500to6,000
to be fixed if they do it, Im not convinced that is what it is.And they wont
cover it under warranty because they are saying the banks system caused
it.And it seems I only lose coolant when i run the truck hard, even in stock mode, and my temp. stays between 188 and 196 some times goes to 200 but then goes back down.has never overheated.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE A BIG HELP!

Good Luck!!! I just purchased a 2006, and have decided not to put a chip in it, mainly because of the horror stories of dealers denying warranty work. I'll wait for my warranty to run out....

I have heard a lot about the 6.0s "puking" throught the filler cap. Haven't heard why it overpressurizes. Don't remember being any discussion of the head gasket causing though....but I am NOT a tech, at least not on diesels yet.

Hey Techs? Any ideas?

This was a big topic on another forum. Discussions regarding using coolant filters help or not and what not.

Sorry Alan and Marc, I was elsewhere first, but they are what steered me here!! :D
