I've posted this on another thread but can't seem to get any help. My 96 powerstroke wts light flashes all the time and engine cuts out with the flash of the light. Also trips relay continuosly shutting fuel off and then back on to the engine. Ran a hot wire to relay and truck runs great but can't figure out whats causing the blink. I want to fix it right so I don't fry something. Any help?

WTS light problem

Not sure if I can help or not.. But I can tell you how I would find a problem like that.
A problem that would make me go nuts and loose sleep over and piss the old lady off. Any way , keep the key on but not running. Have a 2nd person in the truck . Start to move wires around. not sure on the ford you have . But I think the fuel filter bowl is hooked to that circuit or not . But start moving wires around tell your 2nd person sees the WTS light go off . You have a broken or loose circuit.
May be even a bad ground wire..Check the as well
Hope that helps some:thumb:

Been driving it with the hot wire and no probs. Another thing forgot to mention is that when I bought the p/u had a push button for the starter going to solenoid. Didn't figure it was related but now I do. Noticed today that when the key is turned in the start position even with other hot wire connected it goes back to wts light flashing and cutting out. It must have a short in the steering column, and that's why the button was put in. Took column apart and don't see any bare or worn wires. Shook wires no change. What is the box that all the wires plug into under the column? Could it be shorting out inside the box? Any Idea's? Also key seems a little harder to turn than on my other powerstroke.
