I was fixing some wiring on the head lights of my snow plow and when i was done i went to start the truck to move it out of the garage and it would just turn over. There was a wrench that came on. The owners manual says that is limp mode. How do you get the truck out of that mode? I checked multiple fuses none were blown.
I unhooked the batterys for 45 min. The wrench still comes on. Then as i crank it over the wrench goes off and the oil signal takes its place. I checked the oil it is over the max level by 1" would that make it not start?
No thats not the reason, but that should be something that should worry you. That means that fuel is getting into your oil. Sounds to me like you might have cut an important wire, where were you splicing in your wires on the truck?
I was working on the lights on the snow plow. I cut the 4 wires that went to the snow plow head light and turn signal light. Bolted on the new light, butt connected the 4 wires to the new light on the snow plow. During this time i did have the ignition turned to on but not started. When i was done the lights all worked. I went to start the truck and it just turned over. I never cut any wires on the truck. The snow plow has been installed over a year ago and i never had a problem until now. I think i will have to have it towed to the dealership.
My truck was towed to the dealer last night they are working on it today. So far they said it is definatly a fuel problem. The engine is not getting fuel. They may have to change the fuel pump. I will keep you updated.
My guess would be the only thing that relates the two, is timing.
