Hi guys i am new to the forum and been reading alot. You guys are very helpful. I have a 2005 ford f150 lariat supercrew that i am trading in on a new left over 2008 f250 crew cab fx4 black on black leather. But i am having trouble deciding if i want the crew cab or go with the supercab? I know the crew is only like 15 inches longer than my f150 but do you think it is alot bigger to drive?? I am buying this truck because i want a powerstroke bad!! Any input is helpful. thanks

Dont know about being a whole lot bigger to drive, but I guarantee with a good tune on it it will make you feel bigger than you really are. Buy it. Then put up pictures so we can look at it.

I drove an 06 extended cab yesterday, and I after having a Crew Cab I will never go back. I dont do construction so I dont need a huge bed, my next truck is going to be a shortbed Crew Cab, longbed is fine in Texas, but in New York, a CC LB is just too long of a truck to enjoy driving it in and out of parking lots.

Fill your camera with pics of everything when you first get it home, its the cleanest it will ever be in its life....

male compensation or not, there is something special about a diesel and turbo, that a plain ol gasser.

Another vote for the crew cab. The extra space is awesome, and your rear seat passengers won't complain about their knees hitting the seat, no matter how big they are :thumb:

Get the crew cab. There are days I regret not getting one again:doh:

I just picked up a 2008 Crew Cab, Shortbox, 4WD about a month ago.

I love it!

The few times that I will NEED 4 doors will be limited, but...I plan on KEEPING this truck for a LOOOONG TIME.

If you are going to trade or only keep it for a couple of years, get whatever you think you want NOW.

If you are going to KEEP it for several years, get what you Really Want.

I plan on putting 200,000 + miles on mine. I wanted features that I might want in the future too.

I just need to plan on the "Tunes" now.

Before I forget, I'm New to the Site too.

It is Great! I've been reading Alot of Good Info.

My Specs: Silver 2008,CC, Lariat, 6.4, 4WD, 35's/20's, Retrax Bed Cover, CD/Nav/Camera, Pioneer Speakers and Sub, Heated Leather, Sunroof, Rear DVD with Wireless Headphones, Remote Start.

Thanks...

Jeff

I just move from an 06 F150 CC 4x4, lariat to a 08 F250 Lariat CC, short bed 4x4. It is a bigger but not much different then driving my F150 size wise.

Still getting used to the 6.4L but so far I'm loving the truck and looking a future mods like a tuner and leveling lift, tires/wheels. There goes more money :hehe:

Oh well last time I checked caskets don't have money pockets.

i also just deliberated over a super cab or crew. for the few inches difference, i went with the crew.

in just the first few weeks of owning it, i open those back doors quite often and throw loot right in the back seat.
very convenient!

When those three person road trips come around, that back seat looks pretty comfy.

+1 for crew cab

When I bought my 08 crew cab I was trading in an 04 extended cab...I couldn't be happier with the crew cab. A touch different when parking due to the slightly longer wheel base, but not really an issue. There is so much more room with a crew cab it is rediculous....get the 4 door....

I went from a 2000 F150 Extended to a 2008 F250 CC.

Holy smokes!!! The thing is HUGE!! I love to drive the beast, but around town I hate it, so I bought a cheap Accord for my every day vehicle. With my F150 I was fine with it as my every day vehicle.

I don't regret a F250 CC, it is something I needed with a family and lots of camping trips. If I didn't have a family I would get an extended cab.

I went from an '07 Sport Trac to an '08 F250 Crew Cab Lariat! Best purchase I have ever made. I loved the 'Trac, but it just wasn't pulling my RV very well. I bought this truck about 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back! I just haven't had a chance to post any pics yet. There's NOTHING like having a Big 'ol Truck!!

crew cab!!!! i dont have kids, very few friends that ride places with me, but hell the CC is the best option hands down. i have a TV and an ice chest, and some golf clubs back there right now, do that with an Ex cab. plus the cc long beds look amazing!

I drive a 4 door fat bottom. I went from a std cab LWB 2000 F-150. Its like 3 times the size, but aint that big of a deal to learn to drive it. I just had to watch out for my "wide body kit" installed from the factory. hehe

CC hands down. I dont have kids, and I dont use the backseat that much, but I will never go with an ex cab now that i know how nice a CC is.

Ya know, it used to only be for workers back in the 80s that had CCs. now I'd say 60% of newer truck owners, esp the 3/4 ton and ups are CCs. Work vehicles or play vehicles. times really have changed.

Everytime i look at my truck i wish it was a crew cab, i wish they wouldnt even make the ext. cab, the only time ive ever benefited from it is the fact the seat folds to a flat bed, great on long trip by myself, i put the truk at idle and put a dvd in my pioneer and save money on a hotel room.

Go Crew!! I had a SuperCab F150 and I had people in the back enough to know that would probably continue. So when I started dropping hints to the Mrs that I was ready to move up, I knew I wanted a CC! I also knew that I was going to be upgrading to 5th Wheel trailer. So...for me it was CC/LB. My 150 was SuperCab/SB. The SuperDuty is longer (22ft). Yes....it takes more real estate to park / turn especially in parking lots. But I've gotten used to it. I've figured out how to compensate. We have some friends that we RV with. The husband is 6' 2". In my F150, he had to sit in the front while our wives sat in the back on bench. Now he sits in the back seat with his wife. He can cross his legs and not be hitting the seatback. That's my story.....

You obviously have to make your own decision. You know what you'll use your truck for.

Normally I don't post messages but here's some food for thought. My first new vehicle was a 94 Ranger it was a great little rig. Bought a house and switched to a 97 F150 standard cab, along came the kids and moved up to a 02 F350 extended cab. Once the kids got big enough to constantly kick the back of the seats & a 95lbs hound came along it went bye-bye for a 04 crewcab shortbed. Now the kids are a little older and a 5th wheel camper has come into are life it got traded for a 08 F350 CC longbed. That's 14yrs of truck payments and more like 20yrs by the time I'm done. Although it was nice to get a different vehicle every couple of years it does add up over time and mods get expensive. So think about where you want to be in 2, 5, 10 years and what vehicle you may need. Although 20 years ago I did say I'd NEVER get married. The funny part is my house will be paid off before this truck is and every superduty was supposed to be my last truck. Go figure.
