Hey, my name is Chris. I've been lurking off and on for a while and I hope to purchase an OBS powerstroke within the next 4 months. It will mainly just be a daily driver and I'll tow my Trans Am a few times a year. I was probably planning on getting a manual for durability reasons. I had originally planned on finding one with under 100k miles on it, but after watching a video on powerstrokehelp.com the guy mentioned that you can get a real steal on a PSD if you find a higher mileage one, which might not be such a bad idea since they tend to run so long. Did any of you guys/gals on here purchase your PSD's with over 150k miles on them or could anyone give some advice toa first time buyer. Thanks for the help!

I bought it with less than 100,000 on it, but I have a 94 250, psd, 5 speed, 4wd with over 347,000 on it and still don't use oil. Only problems I have had was, Cam position sensor(twice), and the high pressure oil lines beside the valve covers have both had to be replaced, and I put a clutch in it about 200,000 miles ago lol

Thanks for the info fellas. You know, comming from someone who is 100% unbiased and has never owned a ford (right now all are vehicles are GM), I'm relieved to have decided on a PSD. I had for a time also been considering a Dodge Cummins and I just dont know if I would have had the patience to put up with the cummins crowd haha...they are such a pain the A$$. I've done a ton of research and the closest thing those guys get to havin anything to say with some substance regarding their trucks are stupid comments like "ide rather be cummin than strokin" and "I'de rather have a dodge than a powerjoke". Well that might be an exageration, but seriously, these guys are the most annoying car/truck group I've encountered and they seem to be in denial that they're buyin the entire TRUCK and not just the motor it comes with. A PSD seems to a real total package truck and I can't wait to get one!

well alot of people like the motors but with me it was the body style of the ford that got me and the good ol 7.3. i almost bought a dodge but they are to ****y. every time i drive through town all these dodges just sit at the gas station wanting to race. its like no! but ford is a nice choice they seen to have what most people are looking for imo
