Brake Issue

Having a small problem with my brakes. It is a 01 crew with 140 K miles on it. Brake pads replaced and rotors turned 10 K miles ago. Once the brakes warm up it pulls to the right when I brake. Braking is smooth and there is no noise. Pulled all four tires and pads and rotors all look great. Appears all calipers are working. Seems like it has to be a caliper that is working too much or one that isn't doing enough but it looks like they are all functioning. Any ideas or other tests to narrow down the issue? Again, only does it when things are warm.

Anyone with thoughts on trouble shooting this? I thought if I lived with it a little while I might see some wear or lack of wear but not so far. We got some snow and ice and I noticed the left front locked up and the antilock came on pretty quick. Thing is it pulls right. Jacked up all 4 and all tires spin free by hand. Ran it while it was jacked up and all 4 stopped pretty even. Had my kids watching the tires and hollar when they stopped turning. Of course ABS came on in that test.

I'm having the same problem and from what I've read it's the caliper or the line on that side (the right side for you). I'm going to replace both calipers and lines on mine this spring. Mine is still able to be lived with but if it gets much worse I could see it being an issue.

Front end alignment? Tire pressures all correct? Is the suface you're stopping on level and flat? All of these conditions will make a vehicle pull to one side or another if they exist...

The caliper mounting bolts are wear items and should be replaced also, parts are at Napa.

try that 1st (cheap), but it really sounds like a piston in the caliper is worn, next would be to replace that caliper.

You probably have a frozen or sticking slide pin. When you changed your pads did you properly lube them? This should be done every 15K or so, but most people don't do it. Pull your calipers and check for a frozen pin, clean and lube and reassembly. You want to use the proper lube on them as well, at Ford it ic called XG8, IIRC, and is about $5 for a large tube.

What pads did you install? I once was sold the Hawks Extreme Duty pads and developed a strong, I mean strong pull to the right!! Replaced brake lines, calipers nothing fixed it. I finally called Hawks and they couldn't believe someone sold me those pads. A stock truck doesn't devlope enough heat to properly seat them, they are for trucks that carry a lot of weight like a welding truck or for race applications. They next day aired me a set of LTS pads and made me promise not to drive the truck until I swapped them out. I swapped them out and problem was gone!!! Did you properly seat the pads after you got the new ones on? If the pins are well lubed switch the pads from side to side and see if the pull switches also. I would bet money it is the pins!! Probably left side if it pulling to the right!!
