03 crewcab rear seat in an OBS

Hi there, I have a line on a set of seats from a 2003 superduty crewcab to replace the seats in my 96 crewcab. I know I will have to do a bit of fabricating to get the front seats to fit, but how much of a pain are the back seats? I can see doing some fabricating, but I am more concerned about the 2003's seats and their folding down capabilities, and what other modifications need to be done to the cab (if any) other than just making a different bracket for the floor.

I am still undecided about doing the swap, as the 2003 seats are leather, and I told myself that I wouldn't go back to a leather seat. I don't want to do the swap if I only end up with the front seat leather and the rear seats left stock.

I don't know about the 03. But if it's like the 05 fold up and down. Then all you have to do is set it in and drill. It's a nice fit. BTW the seat belts are different so use the front and rear of the OBS AND go to Ford and get some seat belt extenders [rear belts] for free.

RC51 have you done this before?

I have been looking for a body shop to do the modifications on the brackets and maybe the whole installation of seats from a 2005.

I was thinking about replacing the carpet since the seats will be out.

The truck getting seats is a 97 CC, with the grey interior and I found some king ranch seats in a 2005. I am not sure what would be involved in the swap.

With SD seats you will have to drill all new holes. I put a 3''x3'' steel plate to reinforce the mounting spots and shimmed both seats out side seat rails. I used the 95 seat belts. Not hard at all. If you look up caryt he has some pics in his webshots.

i thought ford made it so on your obs you could take the front seat and put it where the back seat is and vise versa. Thats how my truck is, I have 2 front seats.
