Replaced my stock wheels with aftermarkets but was to cheap to spend another $55.00 per wheel for new bands to hold the tire pressure sensors, anyway to turn the monitor off or do I have to look at the tire monitor fault forever? Thanks.

Negative. That will work for about a week till their batteries die. They charge while the vehicle is in motion, so they must be in motion to work. I have even heard that if the vehicle can detect whether or not they are moving, and will throw the error if vehicle is moving without the sensors moving.

The only option for aftermarket rims is to get the bands you are talking about. The next problem is if you have changed tires, and the new tires run at a different pressure than the stock tires, you will still have problems with the TPMS.

Ford is unable (legally) to remove the feature from any new vehicles, so that avenue is dead. It is a federal law akin to the catalytic converter laws. The dealer can't legally remove it.

Where do you see what the tire pressure is? I have a newer model 08 and I haven't found this anywhere.

My light kicks on if the tires get below 65 psi, so I set them at 68 all the way around,,,no light,,,,I'm hoping Spartan comes up with something pretty damn quick,,I want to change tires/wheels,,,and I'll be damned if I'm gonna stare at that tps light on the dash.

take some pvc pipe and end caps and glue one end cap on. Put the sensors in pipe. drill hole and insert tire valve stem into other cap. glue on other cap. throw pipe behind seat. this will work, I have done it and so have others, I know. No problems what so ever. make sure you pressurize the pipe to pressure reccomended for your tires. If you use nitrogen the pressure will not change with temperature.

This will work for about a week. The batteries will die after that, then you are back to square 1. The batteries normally charge while your vehicle is in motion. I don't know if it is actually because of motion of the tires, or if the sensors get their power from the transmitters on the axles. Either way, it won't work. Some people on here have tried exactly what you have suggested. More than that, the computer will have a fit once they quit moving, but the vehicle speed sensor still registers motion. Further more, it will have a fit when they are all not in their right places.
