Hey if any body can help , I would appreciate the input.
I've got 21k on my 08, 6.4, and my water separator light keeps coming on.
It was coming on regularly at 20k and I changed the fuel filters, thinking that would solve it. It didn't. It doesn't come on when I first crank the truck, but I drive about 6 or 7 miles and it will come on every time. I drain the separator and it doesn't have any water in it.
Since I changed the filters it only drips real slow when I open the valve on the separator instead of a trickle like it did before.
I am also having, what seems to be, a related problem. When I have driven about 10 miles, if I am on an incline or accelerating and the engine RPM is at 1900- 2000 RPM, the engine lurches like it's running out of fuel. It's not real violent but it's definitely there. If I let off on the pedal it stops, and if I give it more it goes away too.
I don't think there was any way to get the filters in wrong , but it acts like it doesn't get fuel quite right.
I really don't want to have to take it to the dealer, because I will have to reinstall the DPF but I may have to.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
