I have a 2006 F250 and was wondering if there are any downsides to having a tb system with cat delete pipe. ie, check engine light, performance issues, etc. I am looking at the MBRP 5" system but was wondering what else you would have to do going the tb+cat delete route and any issues that may be involved. Thanks!
With a full Turboback you might lose a little "off-the-line" power but that's it. I have a 4" TB and no way I'd do a 5". 4" is plenty unless you are going real big.
So it doesnt pop on a check engine light or mess with the onboard computer at all? Also, why wouldn't you go with 5", bigger looks nicer (and sounds nicer)
sound is nearly the same i would go with 4 inch you get the same power gains and mpg gains and you save money. unless you plan on haveing over 500rwhp you dont need 5inch
The 6.0 monitors virtually nothing emissions related, so it's pretty hard to get a check engine light for anything exhaust related except an EGR delete, and even then only certain strategies will throw a cel.
Here's another thumbs up on the 4" turbo back. You definitely don't need the 5". FYI: Most 4" systems are 4" after the downpipe. The downpipe is usually 3.5". You can get a 4" downpipe, but it can be a real pain to install and isn't necessary. Sometimes you even have to hammer in clearance in the firewall to make it fit.
