Hello every one. I am in CA. Any one in CA delete there trucks yet.I whant to s*it can my filter but CA. has some tuf smog laws.Any one know how bad it would be if i get busted. Is this a state to state or all 50 state thing. Iam geting 9 M.P.G. 2008 f350 dually 410 rear end.With only a camper shell on. Working on geting a backbone to take the dam thing off. I love my truck. The Gov. and tree huggers are starting to pissing me off .
dude, i hear ya... but i highly recomend you do not mess with that 08 exhaust. if your looking to comply with CA then look into an aftermarket exhaust kit. MBRP as well as many others make a very nice exhaust for your pickup. just taking the cat out will not boost your fuel eccon that much. Do you have an aftermarket intake on it??? how about a chip??? stay smart with that new pickup man. thats just my 2 cents. goodluck man.
Anything you do to the exhaust may void your warranty. It is unlawful to remove any of the factory installed exhaust as far as the DPF and Cat. You can purchase an exhaust to remove or "delete" the DPF and/or cat but a tunner would be nessassary to compensate for those mods... such as turning off regen. cycle. These are for OFF Road use ONLY. Will require signing a waiver stating that you are aware of this. That being said, Spartan tuner and DPF delete will sure give you increased milage and tons of HP!:thumb:
Why can't you gut your stock DPF and go with the Spartan tuner, this way it look's stock from under the truck but gives the HP & MPG your looking for. The only draw back is that if you need to return to stock you need to buy a new DPF which are very expensive.
I think the black pipes will be the give away.:hehe: It's cheaper to buy the DPF delete pipe $350.00 to $525.00 than replace the gutted DPF $2200.00:thumb:
I ran thru enough bugs the other nite to block my vision completely.After cleaning the windshield, I resumed travel but noticed that my ECT (engine coolant temp) was running 230#. The factory gauge hadnt budged off of normal. I stopped again to remove bug screen (DUH) that was completely blocked and the ECT returned to normal 210#. (4 Ton load and 80 degrees)
PS, 5500 miles W/Spartan 210-11mpg loaded/16 empty;6 spd
There are some dpf on tunes from spartan and banks check them out. Small gains are claimed 3 By banks i believe. Better than nothing. Tell the govenator about your trucks bad mpg
We have sold quite a few tuners to CA, including the pipes.
