Hey i have got 285/75/16 mickey thompson baja mtzs on my stock rims. I was looking for some rims that make my tires wider becuase they are sucked in to far in the middle. If i got wider rims how much wider do you think my tires will be? and how wide of rims? I also would like to have them stick out a bit outside the truck body. Is this possible with these tires or are they to narrow even if i could get offset rims.

Or should i wate till these tires ware out to get rims? but the tires are new and i really like them.

Per Mickey Thompson's website, if you went with a 8" wide wheel (your stockers are 7" wide) they would be 11.3" wide section width.

Some 16x8s with 4.5" back space would stretch out the tire a little more than it is now and stick out a little bit further than your current setup. It won't be a huge difference though.

No reason to wait until you wear out the tires. Easy to have them dismounted and then mounted and balanced on the new wheels.

Thanks for the quick reply. see i really like when tires stick out a little bit on super dutys without a lift. so are you saying if i get offset rims and inch wider aftermarket rims that my tires wont look much differant

i have been looking for some rims but the 16x8 ones i find arnt offset they only have backspacing do you know where some nice rims are that have both offset and backspacing. Or just where i can get good deals on rims

All wheels have backspacing and offset....they are just different measurements that both tell you where the wheel mounting surface is located in the wheel.

BackSpace is the distance from the backside edge to the wheel mounting surface, listed in inches.
Offset is the location of the wheel mounting surface in relationship to the true center of the wheel. This is listed in millimeters. Postive offset is when the wheel mounting surface is close to the outside of the wheel, Negative offset is when the wheel mounting surface is closer to the inside edge.

That being said a 16x8 with 4.5" of Back Space is a 0 offset.
16x9 wheel with 4.5" of Back Space is a -12mm offset.
