I got the rails out of the bed but the brackets had to stay as I didn't have time to remove them. Is there a guide to fitting the 5th wheel to the Ford some where. It's a 2004 F-350 long bed dually.
make sure you get a new bolt kit. personally, since you need new brackets and will need new bolts for the frame, i would just get a new rail kit. it comes with brackets, bolts, instructions and rails. probably save you a lot of work and headache and not cost much more if anything.
you can use the universal brackets, or they do make a ford bracket kit which is no drill or only requires a couple of holes drilled. its much quicker install, 30 mins or so, but costs a little more.
