I smell fuel fumes in my cab when i have the blower turned on for fresh air from the vents. When the vent selector is in the OFF position I smell nothing. When the switch is in any position which uses the A/C I smell nothing. When I put it on fresh air (that's either the face or foot vents) then I often get fuel fumes. Not strong fumes, but it bothers me. I'm not sure if it's fuel or exhaust. Does anyone have an idea where I should start checking for problems? I haven't noticed any fuel leaks in the engine compartment down to the ground. I don't know where the blower brings fresh air in from, the passenger fender?
Thanks.
Here's an update. The CCV was leaking oily fluid at the lower end of the hose where it attaches to the valve cover and i got a clamp on it. maybe i'll do the CCV re-route. putting on the hose clamp seems to have helped stop a flow of oily residue onto the valve cover.
I've noticed that when I use my tuner i sometimes get more of a fuel smell, like when i'm stopped at a light, or after shutoff, or at startup if the vents are blowing fresh air. guess i need to check all the fuel lines and for leakage around the bowl.
if an injector was failing somehow would that cause a fuel smell?
