I got an 07 ford, thought i was going to have ot get rid of it cuz ford said they might not cover my engine work, but now they are so i decided to keep the truck. I had banks before, which was alrite, but im looking for more power. Which of the custom sct tunes works good? innovative? dj? are there other brands? im new to SCT so any help is appreciated
i'm just trying to decide. i've had this banks 6 gun in my 06 as well as my 07, but i had to remove it to before i took it in, and don't feel like having it put back in. I have 40" tires, and a 12" lift so im trying to maximize mileage right now. i know that sounds stupid, but trade in values right now are horrible so im just trying to weigh my options. I noticed though, if i have the chip set on a high setting, and keep my foot out of it, i get alright mileage. What kind of mpg are ya'll running with the sct? i know every vehicle is different but just to get an estimate
well i got 40" tires, but also have 4:56 gears, 5" exhaust to 7" stacks, and a cold air intake. right now if im calcualting it right, im getting around 17mpg or so, depending on wind and how hot it is outside. my calculations are not 100% true because my odometer is still off because of the new gears.
another thing too though, i dont have studs, was gonna wait till my headgaskets blow out, then get the dealership to put them in for me when they do the "warranty" work
yea heads might be a biggie for u... what i did was called around different dealerships in my area to see if they would do it under warranty. finally found one place who would do it so it worked out... i got lucky. u have an 07 though and u prob. have low miles on it so i think u would be fine for a while. sct will treat your truck right though
yea mines an 07 with right at 29000 i think, it would have more but i have an 07 dodge cummins that i drive too which has 28000, kind of splits the miles. i drive a lot
i was reading djs site, that you get 3 custom tunes for $425, and if i order from innovative i jus get one custom tune for $429? and also, on the egr delete, what exactly is that because i noticed that on djs website they have an egr delete mod.
Yup...you should. In my opinion, whether mine is on or off...I never notice a difference in egt's. Those things bounce all over the place....I gotta pay attention to the road! haha
yea now ima have to install the gauges that i bought a while back, gonna put in a quad pod. im having my egr cooler replaced right now, truck was blowing white smoke, looked like i was bbqing. hopefully get that out next week, i wanna get studs put in, so im goign to call the dealership in the morning to see how much they would charge since they already had to tear a lot of stuff apart, figure there can't be that much more to install the headstuds
You don't have to lift the cab to replace the egr cooler. They are gonna have to lift the cab to stud it...well...the chances are high that the tech will. But good luck. I would recommend talking to directly to the tech if you can about the stud job. Let us know what the word is tomorrow.
ummmmmmmmm in short. I got hooked up. But yea..."I was losing coolant" Warranty work has a $100 dollar deductible. The tech was compensated under the table.
yea, im hoping they can work something out for me, would be nice, but i dont know if the service manager really likes me too much, i almost got him fired one time. long story but ever since then hes been real nice
