just got a leveling kit installed on my 02 f250 and now the steering wheel is pointed about 45 degrees to the left. tracks nice and straight no other problems to speak of just kind of an annoyance and puts the cruise control buttons in an awkward spot. was told this was a pretty simple fix but don't want to chance screwing up something that could result in a bad situation :look: . i have no problem working on the truck myself but would just like a little more info on how to adjust the steering before i grab a wrench. anyone have any experience doing it or can point me to where i need to go? thanks y'all.

If you look under the truck, the bar that goes from the pitman arm down to the inner tie rod has a sleeve on it. (just above where the orange arrow is pointing) loosen the two nuts/bolts that lock the sleeve down.

Grab a pipe wrench or large pliars and spin that collar. make sure your keys are in the accessory mode so that your steering wheel is unlocked. throw a turn or so on that sleeve.

Check your steering wheel to to make sure you're adjusting it the right way/not enough/too much etc... after you get it about right, tighten everything back down and take a ride up and down the road. you may have to do it a few times to get it right where you want it.

What SS4Matt told you is correct. If you can crank your truck, you can adjust your steering wheel.

The best thing that works for me is to drive down the road and make sure you remember where your steering wheel is when you are driving down a straight road. So that when you go to adjust it you have it in that position before you start. Also, it doesn't take much of a turn to move your steering wheel a pretty good bit

No problem! Glad to help! I noticed when I've done it with my truck it took me a couple times to set the wheel strait, drive up and down the road a few times to see where it really "settles" then I had to re-adjust it a time or two more to get it just perfect.
