2005 truck, STC fitting done, stand pipes and dummy plugs done, new IPR, new fuel filters all less than 4,000 miles ago. When I run the truck and it gets warm, if I shut it down and start it back up it takes about 15-25 seconds of cranking for it to start. What's the problem now? This just started on Saturday.
Check to make sure you have an OEM oil filter and cap. Then check to make sure your anti-drain back valve is operating properly. Also pull IPR valve and check the screen for debris.
I also realized I developed a (small) oil leak on my parking pad. Haven't checked it out yet. I'll put it on the lift tomorrow and check where it's coming from. Standby for values.
We had the oil logs removed and serviced. All of that is new. It sat for a little while longer. Cranks over sounds like it wants to start ICP at 364 now when cranking.
If it will start and run with the icp unplugged your HPOil system is good. Unplugging the icp the pcm will use a default stratigy, it tells itself it has around 600 psi oil pressure, it is then up to HPOil system to actually deliver the needed oil pressure.
Unplugged you would be seeing the default value. Not whatever is actually being produced. Afre all the icp is unplugged so how would the pcm know what pressure it had.
If it won't run then you have a leak, just because the parts are new doesn't quarente that you didn't knick an o-ring during install.
Hate to jump on the wagon, but you have classic HPO issues. If it isn't a seal leak, it would be the hpop. You need to air up the system. Once you do that it will become pretty obvious where the leak is. Of course, don't rule out the IPR either.
Here's an update. I went back to get the truck with fresh batteries. Turned over twice and it started. Drove it back home no issues. At idle IPR was at 22.1 ICP 584. Wide open throttle 77.6 IPR and 3336 ICP. Hooked to shop air this morning opened the IPR and haven't found any leaks. Truck starts every time now.
Still hasn't done it again. Could it be the ICP? that's the only thing I didn't change
