Had local shop pull the 'rancho (ahem)' pcs from the rear and install a fancy set of 5100 blistein shocks on my 2011 F350 FX4. Initially I blamed the rough ride, from the back end, on the snow plow package and the stiffer springs...I was wrong. AT 58,000km's the one rear factory shock compressed and did not rebound!...the other is probably still working its way out. The new shocks have completely changed the ride quality....it's not even in the ballpark in terms of ride quality. The blistein shock should IMO respesents the ride a truck of this value should have from the factory. I will be doing the fronts very soon...I just can't get over the difference. You absolutely need to consider this mod. I paid the local vendor price and had them install because I work in and buy in my community so I paid the 'buy canadian' price of $230 and $40 to install. Probably could have LOTS through internet...but to each their own.

Shocks

I just changed mine to bilstein 5100 as well. My stock shocks had 115K on them and they were major wore out, but I really can't tell a drastic difference in the ride. It's smooth, but I never have been able to really go wow what a difference on any vehicle I ever change shocks on.

Rancho RS5000 are dampers not shocks so they do not rebound on their own. However the ranchos that come on a stock truck should rebound. By the way Tenneco makes rancho and makes the stock shocks that come on most ford and many other vehicles.

X2, but it only took me 2k miles. Mine were 4600's as that was all that could be confirmed to fit at the time, but what a difference.

I had a set of Blisteins on my 6.0 and they performed flawlessly for over 100,000 miles. They made a huge difference when pulling a load.

Just ordered a set of 5160s (remote reservoir) for the front and 5100s for the rear. DIY planned, will let you know how it goes.

I've had Bilstein 5160's, front and rear, on my 2011 for a year now. I really like the upgrade. I used to run the regular HD Bilstein's on my previous pickup...but I feel these are even better...loaded or unloaded.

Just curious about you guys that are running the Bilstein 5160's...

When I check the Bilstein online catalog, and enter my truck info... the only option that comes up for me is their 4600 series unit.

Part #24-186674 for the fronts... and #24-185981 for the rears.

As such, I'm assuming that you guys either have lifted your truck in some way... and/or modified the mounts. Correct?
