bum deal man:doh:. check out the hpop orings, and turbo pedistal orings. look in the valley of the motor and i gaurantee you will see oil there. in the back of the motor there is a weep hole, and after it puddles up in the valley it leaks from that weep hole down the back making it look like a rear main. orings are around $30 from ford and only take an hour to do. good luck. keep us posted
Yup, Rear main Seals almost never go on these trucks....Most likely a leak somewhere else thats draining out the back...Clean out the valley good and try to locate the leak.
Yeah, sorry to dissappoint...not the hpop or pedestal. I inspected the truck for all of that a few months ago when I scanned the forums for leaking 95's.
At the time I found some bad fuel leaks though.
Right now the valley is completly dry. There is oil dripping from the middle of the truck, right in between the oil pan, and the transmission. All of the mechanics say it is the rear main, but now why is it still leaking???
One mechanic told me that older engines build more pressure and I will probably not be able to fix the leak!!!
there is stuff you can pour in your oil,its like a dye and it will show you all your leak spots.
are you sure the turbo is not leaking.did you feel under it.could it be oil pan seal.there is plugs on the other side of flex plate.i think that dye would work.i think you can get it at the
hydraulic shop
I do not know what the flex plate is?? Is it the thing that protects the flywheel?
the only place there is oil is where the oil pan and tranny meet...that area
but i would remove the flex plate anf look further
I appreciate everyones input on this...I really do. I am up a tree with this thing.
how do you add signatures???
for now here is the truck
95 flatbed crewcab 5 spd 4x4, afe stage II, gloshift gauges, MBRP exhaust sitting in the garage (haha), southbend con ofe clutch, fuel pressure gauge...hauls a 24 livestock trailer.
Has the motor ever been changed out for a remaned motor? i got into one and found out the rear of the crank had been turned down and a factory seal would not fit. Also did your new seal have a wear ring with it or did the old seal have wear sleeve with it? If did and your putting a seal on the does not take a wear ring thats probably why its leaking.
its the small pan thats next to the oil pan.there 10mm bolts and there is 3 or 4 bolts.there is a small hole in it.after you take it off you can see flex plate, and rear seal.next to flex plate motor side.wipe good and run and you will find out if its leaking from there.turn it off first.
Removed the flex plate, and that is where the oil is coming from! From the rear seal, at the bottom.
The seal is from a dealership, but I do not know how it was put in, or with what.
I was driving to Oklahoma, and broke down in amarillo, TX. I broke 5th gear. So I had to find a mechanic real fast. He seemed like a good guy, so I had the southbend clutch that I had already purchased, sent to him, and had him install it, along with a rear main while he had the tranny out fixing 5th.
I sure like that clutch.

the engine is a replacment...I do not know if it is remaned or not.
It is a great truck, but this leak is driving me crazy.
I do not know about the wear sleeve....can you explain more about this and where I can get one.
