I've read about guys towing light trailers on the hot tunes, and monitoring EGT's. I haven't tried the IDP tow tune just driving around, but every tune other than "Xtreme X" is downright anemic.
Anyone tow a 5000lb trailer (car trailer + 3000lb car) on the hot tunes?
I towed my 11, 000lb 5th wheel on th x street tune. Did have a problem till I started going through the mountains. Then I had the wrench light and loss power and threw a overboost code. I think you woukd be fine on the street tune towing on the highway.
I tow everything on the 275 spartan. Drive with you brain not your foot and you will be fine. I've done 12000 pounds on the 275. Take it easy and dont rush
Ive used a tow tune once towing and it sucks. I tow on whatever tune I have loaded now which is usually a275 to 330 tune and no problems but I do run my monitor when towing
10k lbs here on the hot tune, my defuel settings are fairly low and climbing through mountains the coolant temp defuel kicks in a few times and it just turns the tuner to stock.
