Hey guys I am ready to go get a 7.3! I am having a problem with my truck that sounds like a turbo squeal, it is an intermittent noise and any fluxuation in the throttle causes it to go away. Sometimes it does it a idle and others it will do it at 1/8th throttle. It sounds just like squeaking brakes rolling up to a stop sign but doesn't stop until I give it more or less throttle. Any ideas? Is it a turbo bushing or something to that nature going bad??
Is it possible it could be a problem with one of the vanes in the turbo itself. And as you give it more or less throttle you are causing a difference in boost, which is opening and closing the vanes?
I know the high pitch squeal..I heard it one too many times!
I wont hear it ever again though!
