So yesterday I put a new cac boot on. Took it out and after a couple high boost runs something sounded like a boot blew off. I checked and all boots seem fine. Now I'm throwing codes p0480 and p 0528. I just went on a 30min drive and my EOT reached 221, ECT 218, and TFT 191. Also my turbo seems really loud and doesn't sound right but is making boost just fine. What do y'all think this is???

Just found that the fan cut the wires running to the clutch. What a stupid design with it being so close! Well I fixed that. The turbo sounds weird still, it's really deep. I think I might have blew the clamp loose on the exhaust manifold side of turbo. It looks fine but I can't think of what eles it could be. Sounds like it's coming from right by the firewall

Yup. I took a closer look tonight and I can see a soot footprint around where the downpipe bolts up. I do believe I found the problem. Odd for that clamp to blow loose and the fan wires to get cut at the exact same time. But hell, I'll take those easy fixes any day

Look for black smoke, that means exhaust leak. ??????

Black smoke is unburned fuel. Black residue around the turbo connections at the firewall is an exhaust leak at the turbo. :wink[3]:

Pretty sure thats what he was referring to, make it smoke so you can find the leak.

I did not get what he was getting at so I thought I would clarify my own statement so I would know what I was getting at. Make sense???

If it's building boost fine I can't imagine it would be a very significant leak, but them again it doesn't take much, I'd check out the bellows as well.
