I use my truck for towing all the time, it is a repo unit. So I tow all kinds of cars, my question is, does any one make a shift kit for the tranny, or a box to firm up the sloppy shifts? The truck is a 06 6.0 cc 4x4. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
bullydog has the triple dog downloader with three settings for the tranny, one is stock the other is perfromance and then arggeisve. i pull a 35ft weekend warrior toy hauler with a 04 F350 c/c 4x4 lifted on 35's with the 6.0l and the performance does a nice job on the shifting, i have never used the aggesive one yet. Bullydog has the try before you buy too so you could go that way all you have to do is long on to the web site for them and find a dealer in your area that is doing the try before you buy.
I cant believe this tranny has been out since 2003, and no one builds a shift kit or a valve body for it. I'll look up suncoast and see what they have, but I dont think I want to rebuild the whole tranny, just to firm the shifts. I'll also check bully dog and SCT. thanks for the help and your time. I'll let you know what I try.
This is partially because this trans doesn't have a traditional valve body like you are thinking about. You can't pop in some new springs and an accumulator valve like a 4R100...this trans is totally solenoid controlled (stupid computer control crap).
Yea that's me, I get called all kinds of things, but never sir. ITP Diesel thats what I was afraid of, I wonder just how the after market guy's do it, for tractor pulls and such.
That's funny, to me at least. I'm sure that's probably not the safest job, you've got some big cojones my friend!
