Ok so I think that my fuel tank is rusting on the inside and I was looking around and found this por 15 that is for fuel tank. It is way cheaper then buying a new tank which I know is the best solution to this problem. Anyways has anyone tried this before or know anyone that has?
UPDATE: I looked into the tank and the inside is peeling off real bad. The pick up tube was filled with the lining of the tank. Everything i read says to just buy a poly tank. Anyone know of a place that sells them at a decent price?
Not offhand but I'm sure there are aftermarket options available. Actually I haven't had too many experiences with delaminating fuel tanks. I do know a new Ford tank is still available.
Not meaning to add to your problem but you should be aware that a delaminating tank can cause serious fuel system issues because the laminate not only breaks up in big pieces but also microscopic pieces these can get thru the filters themselves and plug up the actual injectors.
The only real cure is tank replacement and thorough flushing of the lines and remove the end plugs of the fuel rails and injectors and flush ;flush ;flush. Regretably if the injectors can't be cleaned good enough only replacement is a shure fix. Expensive I know.
The round part with the little red dot looking thing there is a missing rubber flutter valve like. The red dot is the broke off push pin like part of the valve..
Sorry the best way I can think of to describe it. It will cause suctin problems
Update on the tank problem. Called down to ford to find out what price of a new tank is. Which by the way it sky high as some of you could guess. They gave me a number to a place that will redo the inside of the tank at a price of $300-$400 and it has a lifetime warranty. Anyone have a thought on this pretty sure this is where i going to get this done.:thumb:

Yes if the shop is as good as the one we use then you should be Good to go. Depending on the type of tank you have I know performance radiator offers a new option for like 250. But I believe that is only a rear mount tank. The saddle tank in the fleet truck is only offered by ford. So your option is a 1k fuel tank or get it resealed.
I called down to woltz and wind ford and they told me to call Moyer fuel tank in greensburg pa
