The truck's been doing it since I lifted it the first time, lifted it a 2nd time and it didn't do it for a few weeks, now it's back.
When I turn and barely hit the gas, I'll get a pop from the front end, or sometimes when I'm turning without my foot on the gas, and hit a small bump I'll get it, any idea as to what this may be? Sound like u-joints in the front, or something a little more serious?
I had worn ball joints and replaced them and now several months later the pop is back in the front end when turning. Ball joints are ok so that leads me to believe that it is a track arm bushing or sway bar bushing.
Hmm, I'm gonna have it looked at while it's down at ford STILL getting studded
question: A friend of mine has an 01 f350 ext. cab gasser, he just lifted it 2 days ago and his adj. track bar isn't in yet so he's running no track bar (yes, i know.. LOL), he just did his ball joints up front, and every u-joint on the truck is brand new, could that be making his pop?
That's pretty much what it's doing, that and heavy breaking will do it too.
I'm running the stock track bar with a superlift drop bracket, I'm about to order an adjustable one, with new bushings and hope that solves the problem.
the bushing on the side that attached to the diff. was bad on mine. I had someone in my truck turning the wheel and you could see all the freeplay and also hear the noise.
hmm, that's a damn good idea. When it gets back from being studded if it's still doing it I'm gonna have the wife jump in and turn it.
