Hi there; I use a veggie/diesel ****tail in my 2000 7.3. I have added a lift pump ahead of the stock lift pump to push fuel through a Frantz toilet paper fuel filter. The Frantz is located between the added lift pump and the stock pump. Will these pumps working in tandem cause too much pressure resulting in failure of the fuel pressure regulator?
It should be OK. a fuel pump can only make so much pressure. if each pump can only make 50 psi then the stock pump will push 50 psi to the lift pump. the lift pump would then do nothing. with the filter in the middle it will offer resistance to the lift pump should help to get the pressure to 50 psi again. hope i made some sence there.
