I was going through a creek last night and got stuck. water was pretty high but below the intake. I got yanked out and now it wont start I have power. Fuel bowl looks like its all fuel. I will pull codes later but only symptom i have to work with is,
My wait to start light does not come on at all and I have a Check engine light. What would cause my wait to start light to not come on, replacement of the glow plugs maybe? thanks
test your glowplug relay see if it is getting any juice when you turn on the key.almost every time i have seen the glowplug light not on the pcm was bad.sorry man if that is what the problem is.about $500. max you can find better deals too.
For the 99-01 SD's it's fuse # 30 to check... bottom right hand side, it's a 30 amp fuse. See if that's blown. If it is, your truck won't start. Fuel bowl heater/pcm power fuse.
PCM replacement is easy, but don't know if that's your problem. Go into the movies on this site and search "DP TUNER INSTALL" and it'll come up. Good luck.
Im going back out there now with fuses and a cheap code reader from autozone(im gonna return it after im done) wish me luck. Im not stuck anymore just stranded now and wont start
ok, Im back unstuck. Pics later. Ill tell the story later, trust me there is a story.
I was close to Empty on the way back. I was submerged in quite a bit of water for about 30 minutes. It was below the intake but pretty high. I was sitting in my truck and everything in there was floating up to my lap.. 4WD shifter under water! I need help now. I have a water in fuel light so I filled up with diesel and a good sized bottle of additive. Im hoping to burn through the water. My ENGINE TEMPERATURE light is on i have never had it before. Where do I start??? suggestions from anyone are welcome.
sound like you have a bunch of water in everything. take all connections loose that you can get to and blow them out with compressed air or electrical cleaner. if the shifter was under water so was the PCM since it is behind the e-brake pedal. Just need to dry everything out real good it sounds like
You need a can of WD40 and you need to disconnect all electrical connections and spray them down with WD 40. This will remove the water and prevent any corrission from the water. This is an old off-roaders trick for the distributor cap and rotor on a gas engine truck that was sumerged.
Also as soon as possible change your oil, change your trans fluid, change your t-case fluid, change your diff fluid as well.
How about the whole water in fuel thing? I just filled her up with a full tank and a good size bottle of additive. I plan on burning it out, No other way to do it now cuz I already filled up. Im kinda banking on the 7.3 to hold up right now
why would you go in that deep :hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe: oh man your interior is gonna stink so bad ...
