so, i have a curiousity question: as far as tires go, i noticed on my fuel door that the "stock" tires are supposed to be 265/75/16's i have 285/75/16's. what kind of difference would there be if i went to the stock size, would i get better fuel economy?? currently i am getting around 15mpg. try to keep my foot out of it but not easy, i did finally do the zoodad mod btw. anyway, i bought the truck used ('02 supercab) and it came with the 285's they are pretty much brand new, so dont want to get rid of them if i dont have to.
Well, I doubt you would get MUCH better mileage. The 285's are heavier than the 265's obviously but they are also a little taller...which if I remember correctly will give you the outcome of slightly higher gears. This will lower your cruising RPM a little, which helps w/ mileage. Radical tire size changes is what will get you in trouble w/ fuel economy usually.
should get better mpg with a skinneyer tire, i wouldnt think a huge difference but a little. and a hwy tire will beat out allterrains for mpgs.
