HI, guys....

My early 99 has been giving me problems for the past year now..
It misses bad upon startup and i thank it has a dead hole on # 1.

Ive changed the injecters 3 times and this last time the guy told me there were for sure good and there trash... When it cold it wont move..
U have to hold it to the floor for 5 min and let it warm up before it will even back up the drive way... ( NO HILL )

Anyways It has 200K and i thank its time for it to be rebuilt.. or sold 4 a core.

I got a good deal on a 96 van.. He clams it has 225,000 miles although the cluster says almost 400K It does run good with no blow by...
I drove it around a little. seems like it runs decent.. Way better than the one in my truck.. The turbo did have a verly little pitting of the blades.
But if the motor was changed out the turbo very well my have 400K miles on it... It worked but no very well on bottom end..

My question is will this motor work in my early 99 truck?
The 96 has aa injectors and my 99 now has trash ad injectors.

Will every thing hook up? hpop still work on the old motor in my 99?

Please if anyone can help me with a few of these questions it will me VERY halpful to me..

If you are wanting to just pull the 96 out and drop in in your 99, no. It will not work properly. The PCM is different, the wiring harness is different, some of the sensors are different, the front timing cover/HPOP reservoir is different yet it will work.

What would be best to be done is pull the 96 and use it as a long block. Swap the sensors that look different and swap the wiring harness. You will either need a chip to run the single shot AA injectors or put in new injectors. The turbo will need rebuilding($165) with that many miles on it.

Basically the block is the same but most of the accessories changed in 99.

If it were me, I would take a little time to find a different engine. If this is the only one, you have some work ahead of you. Plus you would be taking a huge step backwords(AA flow a lot less than AB, 96cc VSA 120cc)
