WVO;How hot is too hot?

I insulated my vegoil kit this past winter and now that the warmer weather is here I'm seeing higher vegoil readings right before the heads than last year. Today I saw 190*F with ambient at only 84*F. Sure heat is good but how much heat is too much? I believe I'll see vegoil readings at 200+*F later this summer during hotter weather and while driving on the interstate. :dunno:

Your oil isn't gonna get any hotter than your engine coolant that is heating the oil. So I don't think you are gonna get the oil too hot. But then again I am not an expert on this subject. Someone that claims to be will reply shortly.

What system are you running??? Are you like me running your own home brewed design and laughing as you drive by the gas stations???

So if my coolant is at 220*F (I've seen this temp driving the interstate at ambient temp of 102*F in the Arizona desert) and my oil is at 210*F (hypothetical number) that's not too hot? I have two 12v heaters in addition to the coolant loop so sometimes the oil is hotter than the coolant temp, but most of the time it's cooler. I won't drive on oil without both of them on.

So you have an extra 12V heater for your tank for the winter months? I live in upstate NY, not the coldest place but we can see sub zero temps. Would this be a good idea for me to look into?:dunno:
