I bought a used 6 disc stock radio to replace my aftermarket radio. Can't adjust volume or turn on and off. Won't load and cds claiming the bays are full and it wont eject neither. Is it broke or is it not swappable between models?

Radio has two plugs and antenna jack. Could only find one plug and antenna from the teuck...

the only difference in the plugs are for the steering wheel controls (which the donor truck had) but not my truck. is the radio programmed for the controls or can i somehow make it work even though i don't have steering wheel controls???

Can you post pics of the back of the radio and the stock plug that the XL has, please?

the 6 disc came from a lariat with steering wheel controls. obviously my XL does not have that. there is an extra wire on a plug for the steering wheel controls, if it is just a 12volt power, i can try and hook one up...

How am I supposed to know its bad, the parts of it my truck came with worked the other stuff did not. Worked in the truck it came out of. If it didn't work at all he should have contacted me andi would have refunded him the money back if he sent the radio back. He did neither and went straight to negative feed back so screw him.

I was under the impression it was not compatiable with my xl and no one could say for sure if it was a software issue or bad radio so I acted the same as the guy I bought it from on this site.

Your correct , he should have contacted you first.
Hope the two of you can resolve the issue , not normally something you would expect from someone with more than a few post-
