If my truck failed a c02 test how certain is it that my head gasket is blown?

What other tests can I have done to verify the current state of my head?

If your truck also has leaking EGR cooler(s) on it, this can cause positive results on the dye test.

Measure the cooling system pressure when you're honking on the truck - if it rises to or exceeds 16psi you will need to pressure test the EGR coolers first, then evaluate the head gaskets.

What are the symptoms you are experiencing to get you to the point where you got the cooling system checked for combustion gas?

Im not experiencing any real symptoms, i just bought the truck from an out of town dealer. The alternator went out five days later i took it in to have it replaced at my trusted local shop and asked they go over the engine as it is a new purchase. They did the dye test and it failed, it also had a slight misfire on cylinder six. I took the truck back to the dealer, they did a pressure test and didnt find issues. They then would not tell me if the truck passed or failed a dye test they instead said it was an out dated test and wouldnt matter anyways. Im really trying to understand what to believe.

That's all that matters. The cylinder 6 misfire though would really have my attention

Cylinder misfire can also be attributed to coolant being introduced during the combustion process (a compromised head gasket). Which in turn, could explain the questionable dye test results. It wouldn't take much coolant at all to produce a misfire though. Has the cooling system ever required a top off?
