Differential cover bolts

I am going to put on the 08 Alumininum rear diff cover. Ford says the bolts are 5/16x18x1.4".

If I add a washer should I go with 1-1/2" or is 1-1/4" long enough. I want to put stainless bolts on.

What is the size of the front bolts, regular steel cover? I want to change those out to stainless also.

Anyone do this?

Thanks.

:) sucks when all you hear is crickets eh?

I just got my bolts for the rear, I went with 1-1/4 and I have washers to go with, from what I've read it should be fine. If I can get my brakes done the diff cover is next on the list, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Glad you found the info and posted. It's nice to see a thread finished and not just left hanging. Did you swap both covers yet?
