So, my truck has 11,900 miles.
Its been in the shop at 4,000 for an oil leak.
4500 for another oil leak, and power steering pump
6,000 for blue smoke
10,000 for a radiator that ford swears isnt leaking.
and now at 11,900 i have this... and btw, the oil has 4K miles on it

And here is my radiator that doesnt leak

is it supposed to be 2 qts over full? i know what a diesel's oil should look like. this is my third one....

Was your truck smoking blue only in regen?
it wasnt a regen, or didnt seem like it, but i think it was. still a stupid issue

Try a different dealer, if possible.
the nearest one is 60 miles.

man that sucks, I hate to hear about that, Its a shame you spend so much on a new truck, having problems are bad enough but then when the dealer/ford wants to give ya the run around it makes it that much worse

I agree that sucks having that much problems with a new truck ... and if the dealer keeps giving you the run around , go to another one ...

#9 ·
you sir, are correct

#11 ·
i forgot to add, the truck about 80 man hours of paint work to correct deficiency from the factory

Brand new engines are bound to have problems man. The 6.0's had alot of problems didn't they. Get a 7.3 :icon_ford:

#16 ·
when they make a 7.3L with common rail, a good auto behind it, and that doesnt ride like tank, i will. my wife daily drives my truck, so it needs to do more than run good

I am at 92,000 miles on mine and it will not even climb the slope to get into the garage, a $61,000 po$ 1000% ,rad has also been leaking ,but never at the dealer as well -- huuummm but loses 2 gallon a week and I have the same green stain on the lower support as you do. I have given up on Ford and plan to just put an engine in the truck that has proven to me that it runs for many miles - I bought a wrecked 02 2500 Dodge with a 24V and a 6 Speed last week and it will be a rattling ,smoking and running 08 Ford when done.

Yo: Turboseventhree: You will have to buy a truck sooner or later. Maybe you should learn some manners. Been driving Ford trucks for 40 years now and have had alot more probs. then this. You have to remember they were only covered for 12,000 miles up until a few years ago.

:hmm: I don't want to start a flaming session, but I'm pretty sure he was just kiddin around. Sounds like he's not the one that needs manners.

Then go ahead and buy the Chevy.

My truck has 70K on it and I feel I don't have enough oil leaks to keep the engine area from rusting. Its my 2nd diesel that is like that. Most trucks or cars I ever owned have been wet enough to keep it from rusting. So I have to spray oil everywhere required.

Then go ahead and buy the Chevy. I would have but it is butt stinking ugly. Walk outside and see that sitting in the drive would make me hurl. Just couldn't do it.

I dont like all the emissions BS on the new ones....Isnt it envirnmentally safe EITHER way? all that comes out is particles correct? no polutant chemicals?

But im sure ford will get all the kinks worked out. It happened with the 6.0, and they got it workin perfectly.

Sorry for your bad experience. Hope it all gets worked out. I can understand your frustration with the stealership, once they sell it to you, they wanna sc3w ya! cant say i like dealing with them either!

#22 ·
Yea. seems like it got a little heated pretty quickly. Havent ever seen that on the site till now.....

#23 ·
Yeah. Hopefully its just because its late and maybe hes tired:dunno:. We don't need to have comebacks like that over a joke.

#24 ·
yessir haha. CAnnt we all just..get along hahaha. I hear ya tho buddy. I would probly be a little upset too if i was havin problems with my truck. So i dont blame you. Were all like a family so its not a big problem.

Dusten: I hear ya bud. I haven't had any problems yet but I may. I bought a VW Jetta diesel that everyone was complaining about and haven't had a problem with it either??? I've got 120,000 miles on her now and still no probs. Good luck and clear sailing.

Every manufacturer will have a vehicle like yours, given the thousands made.:( My point is I can’t see way they can’t monitor the damn dealers more closely. You don’t take it back directly to Ford, you take it to a dealer with a Ford sign out front. How they handle your repairs is a direct reflection of Ford with most people. Even though the next dealer is 60 miles away I think it would be worth the trip just to see the reaction of the service writer, good or bad. Maybe he would like to show you what “real” service center can do. Good luck.:)

sorry to hear about the problems, there will be some problems ive had a few and its frustrating cause i NEED my truck and the dealer is SLOW and dont seem to care or take pride in customer service, its not real nice but i would maybe try making a scene perhaps in the sales area, talking to the owner or complaining to ford directly, seems these service depts have developed an attitude

#28 ·
dont blame dirty oil on a diesel you can pull my dipstick at 4000 miles and it looks like i just put it in u almost cant even see it but it is a 7.3

#29 ·
It's not that it was dirty bud, look again, it's overfull.

#31 ·
dont overfill it and you wont have that problem (bud!!!)

I don't want to encourage what is happening here but I know Dusten from another site and he sure does know what he is talking about. This isn't his first rodeo with a Ford or diesel for that matter.

Dusten I'm sorry that you are having all these problems with the truck. Like most have said they are a new design and as you already know there will be problems. I feel your pain about having a dealership that doesn't want to work with ya, but the only thing you can do is take her to the next dealership and see what they have to say IMO.

I also want to say that I think alot of these problems can be traced down to the emissions equipment that are on these vehicles as well.
