Everyonce in awhile my truck with have a very slight lope to it that comes and goes while im sitting at a stop light or something. It runs fine when I accelerate, no hesitation or stumbling. I was just wondering if this is normal of for a truck with 120k on it. Thanks

more like a shake I guess with a harder shake than the others every once in a while causing a small lope. ran the contrib/balance test a few months ago when it was doing it and everything was within the normal range. the fuel filter was just changed and I have the fpr shim and when I first did that it seemed to even things out but now it is back to its same old habits.

Truck in the sig does the same thing. I wondered what it was too...

Yep...If we are talking about the same thing, I think I have the "shake" too. On mine it is rhythmic....You can't really hear it, but it feels like it is going "rowr..........rowr...........rowr" 1 to 2 seconds in between. You can't hear it or even tell anything is wrong from the outside or the exhaust....Just something I can feel in the cab when sitting at idle. I started to worry about it, and then I decided that I wasn't going to get worked up about it until I could at least tell it was doing it outside. All the mounts, etc. looked good, so I dunno. :dunno:

EXACTLY. That is a perfect description. I couldn't tell if I was crazy or not but I thought I noticed it on the tach. Like 0.5mm or less movement, maybe not though. So I got the shake. :eek:hnoes: lol

My 96 did that. My dad has that one now, and it still does it. Never seems to hurt performance, but it is wierd. My 99 is smooth as glass. It has 168000 on it.

I got the same issue with my van. I can sit at a lite and watch the antenna dance. The easies way for me to explain it. Feels like a got a radical cam in her. The van still runs great but I am getting worried cause I am towing a car 500miles round trip and do not want the van to suffer. Keep in mind I am a gasser mechanic and starting to learn about diesel.

My truck does the same thing.Every once in a while.'00 with 103k on the clock.I've been told it could be a fuel pressure issue, but the truck runs like a scalded dog when i'm on the road.

yea i have noticed that if im really getting on it for a long period of time it will lope but i have had 3 of these trucks and they all did it so im not to worried about it and i know my ts made it worse when on the 140 tune

Anyone yet figure out just what this lil quirk is?

I put a nice big intake in and it SEEMED to make the "shake" worse, the filter shakes inside the box, and the exhaust tip shakes, along with the antenna. I had a dream I could see the movement on the tach LOL, but I still cant for real. I was worried about fuel pressure or possibly an injector but i did an injector buzz test the other day with a MODIS scanner and everything checked out. :dunno:

Also when I shut it off it shakes MADLY, it always did, and I know there's alot of force movin around there slowin down very quickly but jeez, it's a pretty hefty shake.
