So ive been thinkin of puttin a whicked wheel in my turbo. i was wondering if it makes a diff. and if its worth spending my money on. Can you here the diff. in the exhaust wistle?
Its wayyyy smoother than before and the whistle is sexy as hell if ya foil delete at the same time, Sat. night I went for an uphill beer run from the campsite, My friend with the '03 6.0 was f***in jealous!
Its for the whistle but its also to help cure turbo surge. Actually Shane Sea71 dynoed before and after the install and it was only a 1 hp difference I believe. So no its not a hp mod.
It doesn't flow anymore or anyless then the stock wheel. The fins are staggered a bit, helps get rid of surge, if you have it The sound is cool. As far as worth it or not, they are cheap, if you do the install youurself, it's not a bad investment, but I woudl not pay someones shop labor to R&R the turbo just for the WW....:thumb:
I say forget the wicked wheel and get a nice ball bearing drop in turbo that WILL make more power and can only help your future mods down the road. If your gonna pull the turbo to install the ww, you might as well replace the turbo with a big bad mama jamma.
All depending if you got any dough in those pockets tho.
Thats alot of money if you don't plan on putting in bigger injectors and he has an 02 with pmrs so he will be pushing it unless he spends even more money for new rods
1700.00 instead of the 42.00 I spent, I believe the surge was costing me power, It is worlds smoother accelerating now, I wasnt about to spend over a grand when Folsom Fords Tech said "it was no problem, Just sounds different than your used to."
I love the lil investment.
