I've allways been told that a full leaf suspension lift is better than blocks........ what about a shackle lift??? What are the good points and bad points of all the different lift types? I've been hearing many different opinons and they don't always match up.
But most importantly, What is the best way to lift a truck.... not for lookin pretty or to have the tallest truck in town, but for honest to god, real deal, "NO SH#T" 4x4 USE  (AKA) more room for BIG AZZ TIRES (clearance)???:dunno:
if you plan on using it to really wheel stay away from blocks, they will spit out when you flex your truck hard enough. not sure on shackle lifts, my .02 is to go with a good quality leaf pack. it will flex as much as you need and give you the lift.
for best flexing for 4x4 i would go full leaf packs in the rear.. preferably soft ride springs and a full 4 link lift suspension front end.... that is the best no bull**** off-roading setup
Yeah your going to want leafs all around for the lift I'm not a block fan and shackles I'm not sure about but I don't see a problem in them for a little lift too
I just want to say... leaf packs are'nt leaf springs. They are a leaf spring support that are kinda of a helper for the actuall spring leafs themselves. These leaf packs come in the 2.5" leveling kits for several different company's. Mine happend to be "Tough Country" 2.5" leveling kit leaf packs.... check them out @ Tough Country Products | Superior Quality, Durability, and Styling and you'll know what I mean.
the big downside to adding leafs like that is that your ride will get REALLY stiff whereas if you put replacement leaf springs on, the stiffness doesn't change much.
