Hello, all. I am new to diesels and to Fords. Found a super clean '95 F-350 Crew Cab about 6 mo. ago for pulling around my toy hauler. No toys, just a big family with a bunch a boys. It has been a great tow vehicle so far, but did experience engine cutout at highway speeds over the weekend (not towing). I replaced the CPS but still experienced a cutout (while towing). Hmmm? Any thoughts?
sup bud im down here in so cal.... i would heck all your fluids and filters... how many miles on the truck? when was the last time it was serviced? not sure how lose to you are to Pismo but were having a get together this weekend... looks like 20 trucks are gonna show up all ford powerstrokes....
Raul, I appreciate the invite but won't be able to make it. Truck has 158K mi and was serviced just before I purchased it about 6 mo. / 2kmi ago.
Towing the rig to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks for a Robotics competition (FIRST Robotics). You should see some of the amazing things these high school kids are doing!
Thanks for the welcome. I grew up in Lancaster ('75-'03). Graduated from AV high school. The family moved to Tehachapi 5 yrs ago . . . Lancaster was getting a little too crowded! We really like it here.
Welcome aboard! Isn't Tehachapi the area where the Dukes of Hazzard was filmed? I was there at the railroad loop in 1982 during a family visit to California. It's a pretty cool area as I recall.
Pretty sure Dukes was filmed in Placerita Canyon and Newhall CA. But yes, the famous TEHACHAPI LOOP is just down the hill a few miles. Very nice in Tehachapi. 4000ft and usually pretty windy. I love it here . . . its home!
Did it miss when you hit the brakes or anything like that. Mine used to skip when towing, but only when stopping. I ran a larger wire to the trailer brakes and cured it.
Nope. Just driving down the road a freeway speeds and suddenly the engine cutout for approx 3 sec then came back on. That was while towing, after I had installed a new CPS. Another user suggests I have the wrong (newer gray) CPS installed. I will try to put the black CPS part in and see if that solves it.
