Ok, until last night I thought my Overdrive on/off button wasn't working. I tested the switch, it was good. I know the wires can get broken though. However, I've found that if I push forward (towards the dash) on the gear selector lever and THEN push the button it works fine....is this how it was supposed to work the whole time??
the wire is broken. You need to go to ford buy a gear selector lever and then replace it. If that broken wire contacts the steering column, it wil blow the fuse for the throttle pedal and your truck wont accelerate either....
