Well, I think it is safe to assume that after two egr coolers, one oil cooler, new degas bottle, new rad cap and still puking.... heads must be blown? I've spent over $400.00 in deductibles now so what else can the dealership fix without doing the head gaskets? Darn it all!
is this standard practice for the dealerships to fix everything but the problem when it comes to head gaskets? Don't they know how to diagnose this problem? And yes I've gotten to know these guys pretty well by now. They are ok and will stud it for me. I'm thinking they are following some type of protocol here? They are hoping I will pass my warranty as I"m at 92K now.
Just curiouse what this could cost me should they not warranty the heads?
$3000.00, $4000.00? and how long will I be without my truck?
It sounds like it because it is a pretty expensive procedure for the dealership. The lift being out of commission for a week is big bucks and I'm not certain if labor for the HG's is covered by book value for warranty work, but one of the techs will correct me if I remembered wrong. It should be down for about a week if your heads are not warped.
Dunno about dealerships, but outside shops are 1500-2000 plus the studs (550-900)....mine was done in two days at a dealership. Only drawback, was it was over a weekend. Took it apart on Friday, and back together on Monday.:thumb:
