Well I was doing some other AE stuff tonight after work on an open stretch of rt 40. No one around, no lights anywhere. So I go ahead and mark it up to performance and start coasting along at 100...

I was watching my boost/egt/icp/rpm/ etc... all together monitoring them. Well I blow by 2 cops that were set up in speed trap. The radar detetor never went off.

I immediately pull over and get my stuff out... I was doing 104 in a 55.

He lowered it to 84 in a 55, and 2 pts with a 160 dollar fine. No court appearance needed though.

Needless to say my data log was done.

Figured this ability to shift on the fly would get me in trouble.

I didn't even need to do it tonight, just figured it was better then doing it on the 1/2 mile stretch of backroad by my house.

Well I guess I'm happy to say I can cruise at 100 mph and my egt's are only at 1,000 degree's, my boost is at or below 10 psi and my icp holds steady.

That was a REAL NICE Mr. Policeman. You going to have to drive nice
for a long time to get the 2 points off. Sorry.

ouch sorry to hear that, im on shaky ground at work for my driving record actually got a pretty funny email from one of the owners:
Hi, Ben:

The insurance company didn’t give any details. I assume, as I look at your record, they would see the following:

You have 20 entries on your record from 2002 to present. I’ve never seen someone with 20 entries. There is no strong indication from the record that behavior has changed over that period.
You had an accident, OWI trouble, and suspension of license trouble in 2004. Fortunately, that is just outside the three year look, but the insurance company still sees that.
In the last three years, there are 2 defective equipments, 3 miscellaneous, a seat belt, and two speeds (12/05 and 4/07)

I believe you when you say that you are driving differently. And, you’ve done very well since 4/07. So, keep it up and all this stuff will go away. J

Yeah, thankfully he lowered it.

I've been pulled over a TON of times.. but never doing something like this.

Speeding, burnouts, more speeding - and I always get a warning. This time I was just way to far over the limit. I've once heard they could pull you out of the truck @ gunpoint for doing 100+... so needless to say that pucker factor hittin on that mind.

Actually, he wasn't that nice.

He came up and said why so fast man. I said truck problem. He said yeah, no kidding - that thing sounds like crap, why's it so loud.

got pulled over for 125 in a 55 guns drawn screaming, then 6 more cars came from all directions, they get pretty serious bout that, lost my license for a year over that deal

If I flew by 2 local yokels @ 100mph I woulda pretend I'd never seen 'em and gave 'em a run for their money on some backroads :hehe:

Lucky for me, my 4.10's only let me go 80ish max and that's scary as hell in an 8,000lbs. truck on backroads hehe

^ I was just thinking at 100 mph and pushed on to 120+ since he had to make a uturn and come up the hill I was cruising I might have had a chance to get away.

nahhhhhh that's stupid....

soryy bout tthe ticket but you did the right thing.
I told my brother not to try to run cuz its very hard to outrun the radios nowdays. 2 weeks later I got a call he was arested for evading
I got to say i told you so to him it was not good but great at the same time.

next time don't look for lights cruze the strip first then go back at whateverr speed after you know no cops around. better luck next time.

I woulda hesitated too. Probably the most honest thing to do though.

Believe me though if I did a fly-by like that I woulda boogied on down the road and played hide and seek. :haha:

IMO, running is one of the stupidest things to do...odds are your goin to be caught, and the punishment will be A LOT worse!

Somewhere in the late '90s I got nailed at 93 in a 50 (273 heading from Newark to Fair Hill, Marty) and he was parked on the side, I could of maybe kept on it and hauled a hard left down back roads, but I didn't even chance it, I pulled over. Now, that statie DID write me for the full 93...but he let me plea bargain it at court and knock it down to 19 over after I got a lawyer...Total costs, $500 lawyer, $258 in fines, a day outta work, and one pi$$ed off father! That was the worst part!

That's Sucks, but 160.00 fine for 29 over the Limit is not bad ( I know, easy for me to say) My last ticket for Speeding (54 in a 40 at 04:30 in the Morning) cost me 190.00! your ticket would have been 340.00 by my calculations down here.

#22 ·
here that would have only been a $95 ticket

whats this points thing anyway?

We got a long straight-away near our house that we tweak the new motors on...

Only one of us has been caught doing that and the cop was cool and let it slide when my friend explained he was just testin' and didn't wanna be haulin' *** on the main highway.

I just got caught about three weeks abo myself .... Racing a Mustang GT!!! I won... & got a ticket.... The State boys were nice and didn't write up the racing ticket, just 60 in a 40. I still have forgotten to tell the wife about all of that. I guess I will have to mention it before I sign up for Defensive driving.

Good luck with yours man.

OH btw .... in Dec I was out in WAAAAY out west TX. 120mph is pretty fun ;) ..... I was afraid the tires wouldn't take much more so I shut her down, but it was only running about 3000 rpms!!!! When I let off the pedal you could feel the loss of forward momentum, she wanted more, but I was SLAP outta stones ;) ....

I've pulled over everytime, even during my 8 years without a license, the one time i didnt stop i was on a bike, he had to turn around on a tight 2 lane, By the time I saw him again he was 1/4 mile behind in a tight canyon, a couple of tight turns, right onto a side street, duck behind a Cadillac and watch the chippie go by at double the limit, funny to watch but stupid on both parts, He had absolutely no chance of catching me, and I shouldnt have run.

Bummer Marty! I have been stopped at that trap a couple years ago. It is definately an "easy pickens" kind of speed trap as its wide open,no traffic and deserted .Shame is
there are some spots in this county that NEED to be slowed down...but there not... like my kids bus stop or on the south side of North East.

Run from the MDSP??? now THATS funny? Who said that????:hehe::hehe::hehe:
