I own a 2002 Excursion that the front heat is not working properly. The problem started when I noticed the digital thermostat said the outside temp was 53 degrees when it was in the teens outside. The temp today read 93 degrees outside when it was actually in the teens again. I have to tune the temp up to 90 degrees to get heat in the front. The rear heat works fine. Any suggestions on what the issue may be?:dunno:
Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with them on Fords, only Mercedes... But it sounds like it has come loose and is sitting close to a warm area, most likely engine. It is usually just as simple as the clip coming off, so you can clip it back in, worse case scenario, just zip tie it or tape it.
Look thru the griile on the drivers side you should see the sensor..Take the grill out to get to it easily ...Its four screws on top and 4 spring clips on the bottom
