hey guys i need to know if there are any special tools needed to remove the fuel filter housing. i gotta leak somewhere on top of the motor. i dont believe its the pump cause my truck runs too damn good for it to have a bad fuel pump. i just figured i would tear into it and replace all the fuel lines on top of the motor, since this was a one owner truck when i got it back in september. noticed it started leaking bout a week after i did the BB trick.

No, there are no special tools needed to remove the fuel filter housing, just a couple of bolts at the bottom and all of the fuel lines going into it. My truck did the same thing this summer and it actually was the fuel pump. The truck ran great so I didn't think it was the pump either. I took it apart thinking it was just a cracked fuel line between the pump and the fuel filter housing but it actually was the pump itself. The bolt on the back of the fuel pump that holds on the fuel lines is a little tricky to get to, but a long open end wrench will do the trick. Hope yours is just a cracked line though! Anyway, hope this helps.

I did the bb trick and of course you get more fuel pressure. Mine was the vacuum switch sensor on the fpr. After it got hot it would stop but at idle cold it would leak and you could see it drip. I put JB weld on it to seal the leak and it is ok. Also did you lose the o-ring on the brass bolt when you did the bb mod?

ford knows and has alot on hand of the drain cocks on the rear of the fuel filter housing. sulfer has been eating them up. cheap fix!
