I don't know if I am posting this in the right place or not, but I have a friend that drives a new '07 Chevy that belongs to the co. he works for, he owns an '08 stroke himself. Anyway he was over at my house a couple of days ago with the Chevy and he told me to take a look at the bed, it had come apart on the pass. side next to the bumper where the side panel is connected to the box. The tack welds had broken (about 2 inches of them) and the whole rear of the panel flops out over 6 inches straight out, therefore a crack has formed around the tail light as a result. The head-liner and the carpet are coming apart also. THIS TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 8,000 MILES ON IT!!!!!!!!! He also said the front bumper is so low they can't take it on any roads with anything deep to cross or it gets hung up and it is a 2500HD 4x4! Just proves once more to me who builds the best truck:icon_ford:!!!!!! Just thought it might be interesting, I will try to get some pictures of it and post them.

Sounds like Chevy is taking the Toyota approach to building trucks now.
:hehe: My friend, she's got a 1500 with the fibergalss flare sides and one of them split wide open! Chevy wouldn't warranty it either, said there's no way that it could happen. She had to go through her ins instead and eat the deductible.

I don't know what they are going to do about it, it came from one of his boss' own dealerships in Tx., (he has all kinds of business' going on) so maybe he will have some pull with GM. I don't think it was a spot welder malfunction, it got penitration, just not enough spot welds (I am a welder by trade) the ones they made just ripped out.
