Hey guys I did the fpr shim with the bb and im not sure if i like the dif or if i can even tell a dif? I mean i am slightley leaning towards the side that my truck isnt as fast with this mod? has anyone encountered this before? Thanks for your help, i been busy with the free mods this week with the bhaf, 15k mod, fpr shim and ordered a 5inch kit from farmboys that will be in friday :)

Take out the BB then and enjoy the power of your truck.

I have only ever herd or experienced a performance gain with the mod but all trucks are different.

Keep Strokin'

There is not performance gain by shimming the FPR, anyone that tells you so is deluting themselfs...LOL... It is simply a mod that helps keep the rails full when on higher settings of a chip. Your not adding anymore fuel at each injection event, just keeping some of the air out.

It is not a performance mod...

its bound to give you a little boost in hp. higher pressure from the pump means more fuel is gonna get to the injector. so, when it opens more fuel will go into the cylinder which means more power as long as you have enough air. if you were allready runnin optimum fuel pressure then, no you're not gonna see much gain if any. but, these trucks don't run optimum fuel pressure from the factory. i don't know if its gonna help a stock truck, but it did seem to help mine out a little before i lost the stupid spring when it popped out. i can say that it runs like crap without it. well,it runs fine if you don't get on it any. i should have the new one tomorrow to see if it does anything, supposed to raise the fp to 100-110 don't have a gauge yet so i won't know for sure. if you're keepin air out, then what takes its place? more fuel that's what i think anyway, i would like to see it on a dyno

Guys... Got to remember how our injectors work... There not like a cummins injector that will inject as much fuel as the tip allows during the injection event... PSD has a set amount of fuel to inject, once it starts firing there is no more fuel getting into the injector until that event is over.:thumb:

The only gain I would think performance wise is if you have your chip on it's highest setting you wouldn't be starved for fuel as quickly. just my :twocents:

smokeyd, get the shim out of there and see what happens. There seems to be something wrong with your truck. Make sure all of the sensor plugs did not get bumped loose when you did the FPR mod. I would also inspect the plunger in the regulator and see if there is some build up around it and it is not sealing at all, effectivly not holding pressure in the system. There has to be something wrong other than just the BB.

im going to check it out after work, but i looked at the brass plunger looking thing and it was clean and shiney unlike some of the pictures i have seen, i put the bb down inside the plunger then spring then the aluminum peice back on and fuel line thats all i did, so im not really sure what the deal is?

Two ball bearings? I would be surprised if you did not have leaks somewhere or a dead pump very soon

4000 RPM? WTF are you talking about? 3300 is the where the governor is set.
