I just meet a guy that has a 05 350 6.0 with @79000 miles. It is leaking oil from the turbo and the rear main seal. The dealer told him that there is $100 deductible. He was pissed. He and I thought it was 100% covered. He said he's going to get rid of it and never buy another ford. Has anyone heard of the deductible? My 6.0 has to go for a rear main seal and I sure don't want to pay them anything to fix something under warranty. Why do these thing have so many problems?
i don't blame him for not wanting another Ford. i work with someone who had one of the 6.0's, he got his $$ back per the Lemon Law. he doesn't plan to buy another NEW Ford.
Eh, there's goin to be bad ones, EVERY manafacturer has 'em, wifey had a bad Chrysler, they stood by it and replaced with better car for same payment. And about 4 trucks ago, I had a lemon Ford, yes a Ford...and I was taken care of by my local dealer, and I had a new truck and am on my 3rd since by my choice, I just keep buying new ones. Just my :twocents:
it tells you right in the "diesel suppliment" of your owners manual and was in the paperwork you would have signed if you purchased the truck brand new:dunno:

funny part about that is the 6.0 isnt as bad as people make it out to be.....
I would own one....and why would i own something i would want to put a bunch of money into?? because they are not near as bad as people make them out to be:thumb:

It is in black and white in the warrenty info. It us 3/36 on the deductable. Thats the way it has been. I wont even get into the topic of someone getting pissed over that. All I can say is read your info before you sign.

Anything over 36,000 miles is outside the bumper to bumper warranty and will then be covered by the 100K engine warranty which has a $100 deductible. That's a small price to pay if you need $2500 worth of work done. Even worse what if Ford replaced your engine at a cost of $12,000+ and you only pay $100? I wouldn't complain about that. As far as never hearing of the deductible, read your owner's manual, it and many other things are printed in there.
The 5/100k is more of a service contract that you don't have to pay for then? I know that most contracts can run anywhere from $800-$1800. Doesn't sound too bad to me. Sounds to me like y'all need to start reading the paperwork before you sign it. Not trying to be an a$$, I don't sign anything unless I read it first.
That was made very clear when I bought my truck used at my Ford dealer about 6 months ago. Almost all warranties after 36,000 have that deductable. $100 is alot better than the full repair. I also like my 6.0
From what i under stand is for the first 36/36 there in no deductible. From 36001 to 100,000 its a 100. I think the biggest reason for the deductible is that it promotes people to keep up with the maitnence on the motor. Most people take care of there trucks its just a few that need the incentive. It also keeps people from over using it for the little things like the turbo makes a whistling noise and the motor is loud and it has black smoke coming out of the tail pipe.
Man I honestly hate it when people go on and on about the 6.0. Its a great engine. And as far as the deductible goes $100 isnt all that bad. When I had some warranty work done to my truck and it was about $1100, my face light up when he said it was only $100. if you wanna be a baller and drive a big truck with a diesel then sometimes you gotta pay. I mean it could be alot worse. The dealer by me arent cool with mods on the truck. Then I hear about other dealerships that are totally cool with it. I dont know I guess im crazy for thinking 100 isnt a big deal.
I dont remember if i was told but i did read it. I forget alot. I didn't think it was right when he told me. But if that's the way it is that the way it is. I should read the manual again. Thanks to all for ringing in.
In 1977, 1980,1985,1988,1995,2001,2006,and in 2007 I have either personally purchased or been issued a FORD company vehicle. With the exception of taking home one with a leaking tire.(demo car)...I HAVE NEVER had to make a Ford warranty claim in 30 years .Please add that to your statistics.
I was glad to sign for that paperwork. This 6.0L was the only truck I ever bought where I did not have to take back to FORD for ALL service work. I can do my own work and still have warranty. NOT A BAD PLAN IF YA LOOK AT THE DETAILS
I just received a letter from Ford notifying me that for my 2007 F350 that the $100 deductible is eliminated for the diesel and the rest of the powertrain is extended to 5 years 60,000 miles. The safety restraint coverage is extended to 5 years 60,ooo miles.
Also roadside assistance is extended to 5 years 60,000 miles. This is for the 2007 model year.
Glad to hear this from Ford.

Have an OASIS run on it Eric. It shows up on my 06 report. I don't know at what build date they started it but it's on mine and I never got any notice of it.
Thank Matt...One of the guys did an Oasis on mine when I first joined up, but that was just for my build date(It was built on a Thursday I remember LOL).
When I get a chance, I'll have to ask them to zip it through for a full report. :thumb:
