Ok so my pump makes some noise and I have almost no heat in the truck, and I was going to order a pump and 203 state but don't understand the difference in pumps and the way the t state mounts, can some one tell me if Ineed the newer 96+ pump or if this is eve better
the newer pump is better, but to swap you will need 3 longer bolts to mount the pump 110mm vs 100mm and 4 washers to space your bolts for the pulley out so that it does not contact the housing. does that make sense?
hmm, the stuff im ordering is from diesel site so if i call them you think they can give me the extra parts, and i dont quite understand do the new bolts go on the pully or on the pump itself
you can ask them, but i don't know I used bob's advice and got the washers from the shop (where i work) and the bolts from the hardware store, the pump is held on with 9 bolts, 6 short ones and 3 long ones. the 94-95 pump and the 96+ pump use the same 6 short bolts. the 96+ pump uses the longer 110mm bolts for the remaining 3 bolts, your 95 will have 100mm bolts. they only screw into the front cover and not all the way into the block and then can pull out. also the housing on the 96 pump is physically larger (94-95 in front 96 in the back)
so the bolts from 94-95 pump hit the housing, using them you need to space the bolts out i used washers you can use shorter bolts
no its ok, ive never upgraded to the new pumps before, this is my 3rd psd and the last was a 95 with 615k and 5 waterpumps but i had no idea of the new pump, mabee with your advice i can do a writeup for future use.
